Grade 3-6-Both of these books take factual information and put it into a cartoon format, placing the fascinating world of history into fun and entertaining packages. Dinosaurs kicks off with a discussion of the species' extinction and then looks at the development of the Earth. The text is easy, with short descriptive wording. Blocks of text are broken up by large, colorful cartoons that show witty dinosaurs conversing with one another. The second title looks at life during the Stone Age, with animals chatting or bantering in dialogue balloons, and follows the same format. This is a clear and clever way to introduce these topics. The cartoon strips are well executed, as is the general overall design. Two books that are entertaining as well as educational.John A.
